Ty “Soulman” Hanson, drum and percussion master, is one of the founding members of Snatch, Inc. Ty began his musical career at the tender age of 15 when he played with his high school director's music group. He has played trombone with the legendary B.B. King, three time Grammy Award Winner Bobby 'Blue" Bland, Ike and Tina Turner, Patti Labelle and the Blue Bells, Little Richard, Chuck Berry, The Jackson Five, JoJo Murray, and several other Motown artists.
Ty has performed as a drummer with Otis Clay, The Dells, Billy Butler, Howlin Wolf, and Muddy Waters. He also played drums with the Jimmy Burns Blues Band and on Jubilee Showcase.
Ty received his B.S. in Music from the University of Arkansas, continued his post graduate studies at North Texas State and received his M.M. at VanderCook College of Music. He recently retired as Director of Bands at Foreman High School in Chicago.
Ty is the official drive of Snatch, Inc. He is notorious for fiery, thunderous funky beats and hard hitting grooves. He starts with unbelievable, unquenchable energy that he maintains throughout his entire performance.
