Wayne Grayson, one of the original members of Snatch, Inc., and a member for over 30 years, is the group's electric bassist. His earlier experience in Tuscaloosa, Alabama was playing tuba in his high school marching band under band director Ray Thomas. Wayne also played with a family band called THE REDLIGHTERS, touring the South. His first held position was that of lead guitarist, but after three years he switched because he heard the call of the electric bass.
Wayne played bass for a gospel group in Alabama called THE SONS OF ZION. During this time he performed on shows with the PILGRIM JUBILEES, INEZ ANDREWS, THE MIGHTY CLOUDS OF JOY, THE FIVE BLIND BOYS AND THE LOVING SISTERS.
He located to Chicago in 1966 where he attended Hirsch High School. There he played tuba with the concert band under the direction of George Hunter. Wayne's career highlights include performing with The Ken Chainey Experience, The Outcast Band, The Street Experience, Otis Clay, Walter Jackson, Ruby Andrews, George Hunter and the Moonlighters Orchestra, The Charles Walton Orchestra and The New Christian Valley Baptist Church Band.
Wayne is the rhythmic catalyst and driving force of Snatch, Inc.
